It's always a fun time in Dorset at the Dorset Snoball Winter Carnival. Dorset is found along Higway 35 near Huntsville. In this picture a volunteer gets ready to rock with some junk bling. You can see the junk mobile in the background. This carnival also features snow mobile racing across open water.

Jonny and Dylan spent a wonderful week performing at schools in the Calgary area as well as taking part in the Garden Variety Show hosted by Jimbo Jordan at the Loose Moose Theatre. The show also featured Aytahn Ross, Dan the One Man Band and magician Malcolm Russell.

Dangerous Derek performs a drum solo for Junkyard Symphony's Recycle Rock at the Historica Dominion Institute in Ottawa. About sixty of Canada's brightest young minds were in attendance to watch the show. The Historica Foundation of Canada was launched in October 1999 with a mission to help all Canadians come to know the fascinating stories that make our country unique.

Junkyard Jonny shows the girls that boys just want to have fun too. It was a beautiful day at the beach, especially at the main stage where Junkyard Symphony and other local acts such as Rays Reptiles entertained the crowd with their original entertainment. It's a fun place to be if you want to avoid the massive crowds of Parliament Hill. Petrie Island is a complex of islands and wetlands located on the south shore of the Ottawa River.

Finds a Friend

As Junkyard Jonny and Speedy Spence got out of the junkmobile, they shared a laugh when they saw what was staring them in the face. You can't tell because the new junkmobile is a small car, but it's definitely got junk.

Junkyard Jonny turns himself into a junk monster at Roy Duncan Park Phase 2 Completetion organised by the Westboro Beach Community Association. There was great weather and a great turnout. Even Mayor Jim Watson was there, some firefighters and other local performers. Children had the opportunity to jam on the junk after the show. The Westboro Beach Community Association does lots of fabulous things for the community.

Junebug Children's Festival.

Junkyard Jonny holds the basketball net for a volunteer at the Junebug Children's Festival in Fort MacMurray, Alberta. Put on by the Hub Family Resource Centre, The Children's Festival attracted many eager children in the busy northern Alberta City. The festival is held in the town's impressive Recreation Centre on MacDonald Isalnd, which includes indoor ice-rinks, gyms, a pool and even an extensive water park.

Museum of Nature

Junkyard Jonny Juggles Jugs on top the Terrible Tower of Trash for a large crowd at the Museum of Nature. The Museum of Naure was having a 'Talk to the Specialists' day so visitors had a chance to talk to Jonny and learn how he does those crazy stunts. The Museum of Naure has some wonderful new exhibits. It's definitely worth taking the kids the kids there for a day of fun and education.
Special note: There is an environmental film festival at the musuem from April 5 to 8, 2011. Don't miss these thought-provoking productions.

Fright Nights

Jonny and Tony had some monster shows at the PNE's Fright Nights in Vancouver. Sharing the stage with the Monsters of Scholck fron Niagara Falls, JYS performed 4 shows a night in the Famous Slayers Theatre. It was a combination well worth watching. Local celebrity Samantha Mack manged to capture JYS on video.

Recycle Ross and Duct Tape Dayv had a fatastic show at the Albion Heatherington Recreation Centre. The Circo-Eco is a cool new show that features junk bass and recycled dj beats instead of junk drums to give Junkyard Symphony some instrumental variety.

Junkyard Jonny and Trashcan Tony had great shows at the Spencerville fair playing across from the poultry barn with hay bail seats to comfort their audience. Tom Cochrane played the main stage and long time friends Splash and Boots also shared the courtyard stage with Junkyard Symphony. Spencerville is quite small but the fair is well known and is very well attended.

Junkyard Jonny, Dumpster Don and Speedy Spence of Junkyard Symphony's Terrific Trio had a fun time at this Northern Ontario Buskerfest. Dumpster Don was a hit at the Late Night Cabaret at Loplops, demonstrating his dancing abilities and his new tighty pinkies.

Junkyard Jonny and Trashcan Tony enjoy fun in the sun with friends as they spend their days swimming in the Adriatic Sea, their afternoons watching world cup football and their nights performing shows in the quaint towns of Split and Sebenik, Croaita. Croatia is a beautiful country with lots of friendly people, islands, beaches and movie stars with big boats.

Kicking off the first leg of thier European tour, Junkyard Jonny and Trashcan Tony are having fun making lots of new friends and fans in Skopje, Macedonia. Next on the bill is Split and Sebenik, Croatia. The show works well internationaly as there is no need for Jonny to talk. He just whistles.

Thousands of people packed into the Museum of Nature for the grand re-opening. Junkyard Symphony dazzled the crowd to a packed room on the fourth floor. The elevator ride was slow, but the show was worth it. Here you can see Junkyard Jonny sword-playing with a volunteer.

Anniversary on Parliament Hill
There were three thousand excited girls watching Junkyard Symphony on Saturday as they performed their show successfuly 9 times over the course of the afternoon. It was quite a fun filled day, with native dancers and performers of all kinds. The only kink was that not one of the 50 porta-potties were reserved for men. It was ladies only at this event.

Junkyard Symphony's Terrific Trio had an awesome time performing in Robson Sqaure for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. JYS welcomed a new member, Recycle Rose, who performed amazingly. Junkyard Jonny managed to do a great job while performing in a wheelchair after having survived a terrible car accident just one week before the show.

The Junkmobile all broken.

Horrible Accident
Sadly as Junkyard Jonny was returing home to his family one evening, his car slid on some black ice and hit a tree. Jonny broke his ankle and his wrist and the car was damaged beyond repair. Most importantly Jonny is alive and Recycle Ross is happy to help out and take over the shows until he is better. We expect Jonny to return to performing in April.

Junkyard Symphony's Super Snow Slides were a success. Lots of people came to enjoy the fun. We were going to keep them open one more weekend, but because of rain dammage we had to take them down. However we have created a Super Snow Stage instead, so come by and see our Super Snow Show on Sat Jan 30 at 1pm, 78 Tamblyn Crescent in Kanata.

Junkyard Symphony is happy to announce that we are going to be performing at the 2010 Winter Olympics! We will be performing every evening from Feb 12 to 18 at Robson Square. In honor of the Olympics we have created our own luge to commemorate our fans. We owe our success to our fans, our clients and our agents, especially our friends at MASC. Our "Super Snow Slides" are open to all Junkyard Symphony fans of all ages from Tues Jan 18 to Sat Jan 23, 6-8pm, 78 Tamblyn Cresent in Kanata. We have two awesome slides and play a game called Snow Slide Bucket Ball. You grab a stuffed sock on the way down and try to stuff it into a variety of three buckets at the bottom.

Crabfest 09

Junkyard Jonny and Speedy Spence had a great time in Kincolith for their annual Crabfest. Kincolith is on the border of Alaska and BC and the scenery is just beautiful. JYS got to open for Wide Mouth Mason and Kim Mitchell. Spence did a wicked drum solo and joined the sound guys to create an impromptu band when one of the artists was late.

Death Defying Dare of Doom

Junkyard Jonny and Landfill Lil performed three awesome Super Street Shows at WESTfest in Westboro, a quaint community in the west of Ottawa. Junkyard Jonny completed a new Death Defiying Dare of Doom. This time he balanced on the Balancing Bongo Board atop the Tube Tower of Terror while juggling Plungers of Peril. Jonny has in mind to eventually juggle the jugs up there but he has to get used to the plungers first.

On May 17 Junkyard Jonny performed on real drums with his blues/funk band Papa Shango. The Rainbow Bistro was jammed to capacity with happy fans, many of which were Bell High Alumni, Jonny's High school. Headliners Downstone Rhythm also did a great job. Papa Shango consists of Alanna George, Joe Nesrallah, Ilan Kolet, Dave Matsukubo, Andrew Matsukubo, Chris Lengyel, and of course Jonny Olsen on drums.

Students pepare to do the Macarena

Hands up!
Students at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Russell hold up their hands in preperation to save the world...and to do the the Macarena. Under the leadership of eco-science teacher Amanada Poitras, the St. Thomas Aquinas Green Team was able to use Junkyard Symphony's show to help raise enough funds to buy 5 large benches for an outdoor classroom, and a sugar maple tree! It was a great idea! Have a show, raise some money...help the environment!

Earth Week!
It was a busy week for Jonny and Tony as they performed seven shows and four workshops in just five days. Students at Central Public School learned about the “rhythm of recycling” as Junkyard Symphony entertained a packed gymnasium to celebrate Earth Day. Emily Vallieres, 11, said the act showed her the many fun uses for diverted materials that could otherwise end up in a landfill. “I’m getting it,” she said. “Recycling is helpful to our earth and we should do it every day.”

Performing with children's guitar duo, Splash and Boots, Junkyard Jonny and Trashcan Tony performed a great show at Owen Sound's OSCVI Auditorium in benefit of the Children's Aid Society. Ten Foot Teatering Tube Tower of Terror

It's actually the Ten Foot Teatering Tube Tower of Terror to be more specific and Jonny successfully juggled three water jugs on top of it at the Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival to the pleasure of an overjoyed audience. Junkyard Symphony had been performing at the Dorset Snoball Winter Carnival for the past five years; perhaps its because everyone has so much fun. The festival features snowmobile races over open water which is always an exciting time. Junkyard Symphony's Recycle Ross performs with his crystal ball at the Qualicum Community Day in the city of Ottawa. Not only did he dazzle and warm the winter chilled crowd but as he thoughtfully gazed into his crystal ball, he predicted a great summer season full of lots of fun for the city of Ottawa and of course all the clan of Junkyard Symphony. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Ross!
