Junkyard Symphony's RHYTHM BALL

Junkyard Symphony's Rhythm Ball is a cross between handball, basketball
and a hip-hop concert.

Junkyard Symphony's RHYTHM BALL

Rhythm Ball combines music with sport.

Junkyard Symphony's RHYTHM BALL

The object of the game is to pass the ball on every beat "one" of a certain
rhythm cycle. The most common cycles are the 4 beat cycle and the 6 beat cycle.

Junkyard Symphony's RHYTHM BALL

The ball can be passed from a player's hand to the other hand
by bouncing it off the floor.

Junkyard Symphony's RHYTHM BALL

The ball can also be passed from hand to hand by throwing the ball into the air.
The ball must arc higher than the player's head.

Junkyard Symphony's RHYTHM BALL

The ball can be passed from one player to another.
As long as the ball is passed every beat one , the play continues.
If the ball is not passed on the beat one, or the player passes the ball on the wrong beat,
the play stops and the other team takes possesion of the ball.

Junkyard Symphony's RHYTHM BALL

To score, the ball must hit the gong on beat "one" and land in the basket.
The scoring team then receives 5 points.
If the ball hits the gong on beat "one" but does not land in the basket,
the scoring team receives only 3 points.
If the gong is struck on any other beat other than beat "one",
the scoring team receives only 1 point .

A drummer plays along on a junk drum kit and acts as the game's referee,
making sure that the players keep the beat. The drummer stops if a pass
occurs on the wrong beat, and indicates for the ball to return to the opposite team.
The drummer restarts the beat and the game continues.

RHYTHM BALL
Great for all Ages!
Junkyard Symphony has created the coolest new sport. Take some elelments from basketball, handball, lacrosse, and the Gong Show, then add a drumkit, a whole team of players and what you get is "Rhythm Ball". Four people play on the court at a time, but all the rest still play in the game from the sidelines, then they rotate. It's so much fun you can't not try this new sport.
Duration: (60 min. Recommended max 50 players)

Rules
On each side of the court are two gongs with a basket. Two players stand on each side of the court, and a drummer on the sidelines keeps the beat on a junk drum kit.The rest of the two teams also stand on the sidelines. The objectof the game is for the two teams to rebound the rhythmball off the gong and into the basket on the opposite side of the court, but there is a catch. The rhythmball must hit the gong on beat 1 of a 4 or 6 beat cycle to get full points. The ball must also be passed every beat one for the play to continue.
The ball can be passed from hand to hand as long as the ball arcs above the head. It can be bounced off the ground from one hand to another, or passed behind the back. The rhtyhmball can be also be passed to the second teamate or any teamate on the sidelines, but again the rhtymball can only be passed on beat one. Off beat passes allows the other team to take posession of the rhythmball. The oppostion of course tries to snatch the ball away. One good thing is that you know when the ball is going to be passed. That's the basics. Give it try. It's lots of fun.
