Junkyard Symphony at le Petit Prince, Gatineau
(Left image)
Awesome Alex and Seismic Sacha show off Junkyard Symphony's super cool robot Rumblebot. He is called Rumblebot because he has 200
ping pong balls inside his belly that rumble when a crank is turned. Rumblebot lights up and puts on a fantastic light show dancing
performance at the end of every show. The kids absolutely love him and get to come up and make him dance during the show.
The Giants of Junk show features lots of things that are giant, such as giant juggling balls, a giant unicyle and giant drummers
on stilts. It's a really fun show, with giant applause.

Junkyard Symphony at le Centre préscolaire et parascolaire l'Étoile filante
(Right image)
JYS had a fun time performing for l'Étoile filante at École Maurice-Lapointe as their gym was painted in JYS colours. A volunteer gets up to dance during and show off his amazing moves in Junkyard Symphony's Giants of Junk show. While often times the volunteers
are children, Junkyard Symphony makes sure a few adults join in the fun at every show. One of the main points of Junkyard Symphony is to demonstrate that
we are never too old to act silly, but we are silly to act old. The
show can be done in French or English. In French it is called Géants de Ferraile.

Junkyard Symphony at St. Thomas Moore School

As well as shows JYS is quite busy teaching workshops in Rhythm and Recycling. Throughout the workshop students always have
a percussion instrument in hand such as rhythm sticks, shaker drums and bucket drums. Participants learn the importance of rhythm in music and life. In a drum circle fashion using reused materials for percussion
instruments Junkyard Symphony teaches the basics of rhythm, such as tempo, beat, dynamics, quarter notes, eight notes, half notes, whole notes as
well as syncopated rhythms. Add in a cheer box and a few rhythmic games and the workshop becomes a 'Stomp' for students.
